The problem

The export Snapchat gives you is not your memories. It’s a box of parts.

Years of your life are in Snapchat Memories, and only in Snapchat Memories. So you do the responsible thing: you request your data, wait for the email, download the zip files. And then you open them.

Thousands of files with scrambled names. Every photo stamped with the date you exported it, not the day it happened. The captions and doodles you wrote: gone, split off into separate overlay files you’ve never heard of. The date, the place, which caption belongs to which photo: it’s all in there, buried in a JSON file the export assumes you’ll never read.

The app reads the record Snapchat buried in your export and writes the real capture date, time and location back into every photo and video. A snap from July 2017 lands in July 2017, on the map, exactly like a photo taken with the camera.

Captions and drawings, baked back in

The export ships your text and doodles as separate transparent files, detached from the snaps they belong to. The app matches each one to its photo or video and composites it back on, permanently part of the picture, the way you remember it.

Everything lands in Photos, sorted

Your memories go straight into your photo library and fall into place: in your timeline, in your year views, in “On this day”. Choose what to import by month, pause a big run any time, and pick up where you left off without duplicates.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. The app has no servers, no account and no analytics. Your export is read on your iPhone and your photos are written to your photo library on your iPhone. The app works the same with the internet turned off.

Does this work with the official Snapchat export?

Yes, that’s the only thing it works with. You request your data through Snapchat’s own My Data page, download the zip files Snapchat emails you, and open them in the app. The app never connects to Snapchat or accesses your account.

Will my photos lose quality?

Photos are saved exactly as they are in your export, byte for byte, no recompression. Videos without a caption are saved as-is too. A video with text or drawings on it has to be re-rendered once to bake the caption in permanently.

What happens to the text and drawings on my snaps?

Snapchat’s export strips captions and drawings into separate overlay files. The app composites them back onto the photo or video, so what you save looks like what you remember.

Is this app affiliated with Snapchat?

No. It is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Snap Inc. It processes a file you downloaded yourself through Snapchat’s official export.

What if my export is huge, or split across many zip files?

Big libraries arrive as several zip parts. Pick them all at once and the app treats them as one export. You choose what to import by month, you can pause any time, and an interrupted import resumes where it left off without creating duplicates.

How does it know the real date and place of each memory?

Your export includes a file called memories_history.json that records when and where each memory was captured. The app matches every photo and video to its entry and writes that date, time and location into the saved photo’s metadata.
