Memories: Save to Photos was built on a simple idea: your memories are yours. This policy explains what happens to your data, and mostly what it doesn’t.
We don’t collect anything
The app has no servers, no accounts and no analytics. We never see your photos, your videos, your export files, your name or your email address. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted to us or to anyone else. The app works entirely on your device, and it works the same with the internet turned off.
Your export files
When you open an export archive, the app reads it directly from where it lives on your device or in your iCloud Drive. Files are unpacked into the app’s own private storage only for as long as an import needs them, and the working copies are cleaned up afterwards. Your original archive is never modified, moved or uploaded.
Photo library access
The app asks for photo access for exactly three things: saving your memories to your library, recognising memories you’ve already imported so you don’t get duplicates, and removing photos again if you undo an import. It never reads your library for any other purpose, and nothing from your library ever leaves your device.
Location data
If your export includes the place a memory was captured, the app writes that location into the saved photo’s metadata so it appears on your library’s map, just like a photo taken with the built-in camera. This happens entirely on your device. The app never accesses your current location and never sends location data anywhere.
Purchases
The one-time unlock is processed by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details go to Apple, not to us. We never see your card number, billing address or Apple ID. The app checks your purchase locally using Apple’s StoreKit, and your free-import count is stored on your device and in your device’s own backup.
Notifications
If you ask to be reminded when your export is ready, the app schedules a local notification on your device. There is no push-notification server behind it, so the reminder never touches the network.
No tracking
The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting and no crash reporters that phone home. Under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency rules there is nothing to ask you about, because there is no tracking to consent to.
Deleting your data
Everything the app stores (import history, settings, temporary files) lives on your device. Delete the app and it’s gone. The memories you saved to your photo library are yours and stay in your library, exactly like any other photo, until you decide otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, this policy will be updated first and the date above will change. Given what the app is (a tool that keeps everything on your device), we don’t expect that to happen often.
Questions?
This policy is meant to be readable, but if anything is unclear, write to ludvig.appdeveloper@gmail.com and you’ll get an answer from the person who made the app.
This policy applies to Memories: Save to Photos on iOS. The app is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Snap Inc.
