About Memories: Save to Photos

Memories: Save to Photos is a small iOS app with one job: take the official export of your Snapchat Memories and turn it back into a proper part of your photo library, with the real dates, places and captions restored. It exists because that export, on its own, arrives as a heap of scrambled files that no photo app knows how to read.

What the app is

It reads the zip files from Snapchat's My Data export, matches every photo and video to its record in the export, and writes each memory into your iPhone's photo library with its true capture date, time and location, and its captions and drawings composited back on. The result is that your memories sort into the right years, appear on the map, and sit alongside your camera photos, exactly as if they had been taken with your phone.

How it works with your data

Everything happens on your device. The app has no servers, no accounts and no analytics, and no third-party tracking of any kind. Your export files and photos never leave your iPhone, and the app works the same with the internet turned off. There is a fuller account in the privacy policy, but that is the whole idea: your memories are yours, not anyone's data.
